United Welfare Fund (UWF)
Medical
The UWF provides health insurance to USWU members through a self-insured program with United Healthcare. Today with the future of healthcare so uncertain, our members continue to enjoy exceptional benefits. The USWU continuously strives to bring high quality, low-cost medical coverage to its members.
Security Division
The UWF-Security Division is a unique benefit only available through the UWF. This is a collectively bargained benefit fund in which employers make monthly contributions to members’ accounts. The fund is 100% secure, since the Security Division only uses investments 100% backed by the United States government. These secure accounts grow over time and are available to vested participants when they separate from their employer.
Dental
The USWU provides dental coverage to eligible members. This coverage is provided by various carriers on a fully insured and self-insured basis. You may be eligible for dental benefits if you are an employee covered by an agreement that has a provision for dental coverage.
401(k)
The IUJAT 401(k) Retirement Plan’s migration to Empower’s enhanced record keeping system is now complete. Your upgraded features and benefits are now available.
